Dental Implants near Richmond Hill
An implant is a plan that unfolds over several months, not a single appointment. For Richmond Hill residents, our Aurora clinic is close enough to make each stage easy to fit into a normal week.
The short answer
Looking for dental implants in Richmond Hill? Aurora Gateway Dental Care places and restores implants at our clinic on Wellington Street East at Bayview Avenue in Aurora. From Richmond Hill, take Highway 404, Bayview Avenue or Yonge Street north to Wellington. Most trips take about 15 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic.

Why Richmond Hill patients come to Aurora
Replacing a tooth with an implant usually means an assessment, a placement visit, a healing period and then the crown, plus a few short checks in between. Because you will make the trip more than once, the route matters. If you live in the east end of Richmond Hill, in Rouge Woods or Headford near Leslie Street, Highway 404 north to Wellington Street East is often the smoothest drive. Park in front of the plaza and look for the blue DENTAL sign.
Richmond Hill has plenty of dental offices, and choosing one in Aurora is mostly about fit. Our Tuesday and Thursday hours run until 7 p.m., and Saturdays run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., so the shorter visits can happen outside a workday. Our team speaks English, Farsi, Tamil and Tagalog, so ask for a team member who speaks your language when you book. We bill all insurance plans directly and accept CDCP and IFHP.
Is an implant the right way to fill your gap?
An implant is one of three common ways to replace a missing tooth. The others are a bridge, which is held by the teeth on each side, and a removable partial denture. Each has a place. An implant stands on its own in the jawbone, so the neighbouring teeth are left alone. It also needs healthy gums, enough bone and a body that heals well.
Your dentist weighs these questions with you after an exam and X-rays:
- How much bone is left where the tooth used to be?
- Are your gums healthy, or is there gum disease to treat first?
- Do you smoke, or take medicines that affect bone or healing?
- How do your upper and lower teeth meet when you bite?
- Would a bridge or denture meet your goals with less treatment?
Planning dental implants from Richmond Hill: a realistic timeline
Most people finish in several months. The longest part is healing, while the bone bonds with the post. During that time you are not driving up every week; there are only a few short visits to check how things are settling. If a bone graft or tooth removal comes first, the plan stretches out further.
Tell us about your schedule when you book. If evenings suit you better than weekdays, we will look at Tuesday and Thursday times for the shorter visits. Your written plan lists each stage, so you can see the whole road ahead before you agree to anything.
Who plans your implant here
Dr. Kourosh Rahimi, whose training focuses on implant dentistry, is part of our team. He completed the UCLA Master Program in Implant Dentistry. At your assessment we tell you which dentist will plan and place your implant. Digital (3D) scans help with planning, and 3D imaging may be suggested if the site is close to a nerve or sinus; we explain why before booking it. If any part of your care would be better done at another office, we explain the referral.

Questions
How many trips to Aurora will my implant take?
It varies with your plan. A simple case usually means an assessment, a placement visit, one or two healing checks and then visits for the crown. Removing a tooth or adding bone first means a few more. Your written plan shows each visit.
Can I drive myself home to Richmond Hill after the implant is placed?
If only local anaesthetic is used, most people feel able to drive. If you choose a sedation option, you will need someone to drive you home. We go over this when we book, so you can plan ahead.
My tooth was removed at another office. Can you still plan the implant?
Yes. Ask your previous dentist to send recent X-rays and notes, which may save repeating some steps. We will still examine the site ourselves, because bone and gum change after a tooth comes out.
I lost the tooth years ago. Is it too late for an implant?
Not always. Bone often shrinks where a tooth has been missing a long time, so there may be less to hold a post. A bone graft sometimes helps; other times a bridge or denture is simpler. X-rays show what is possible.
Will my insurance pay for an implant?
Coverage differs a great deal between plans. Some pay toward part of the treatment, such as the crown, and some pay nothing. We can send a predetermination to your insurer and give you a written estimate before you decide.
