Bradford overlooks the Holland Marsh, about 25 km northwest of our clinic. That is a real drive, and we will be upfront about it. Here is how to get to us and why some Bradford families decide the trip is worth it.

The short answer

Aurora Gateway Dental Care is southeast of Bradford at 676 Wellington Street East in Aurora, about 25 km away. Head east across the Holland River and south on Yonge Street through Newmarket into Aurora, then turn east on Wellington Street. Green Lane to Highway 404 is another route. Allow about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Bradford has grown quickly, and you will find dental offices in town. If you want a dentist in Bradford, close to home, that is often the most practical choice. So why do some Bradford families drive to Aurora? The reasons we hear most are practical. Our Saturday hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 7 p.m. fit around commutes. Our team speaks English, Farsi, Tamil and Tagalog. And many Bradford residents already travel south for work, often past Aurora.

If you do make the trip, we want it to be worthwhile. Your dentist explains the full treatment plan after the first exam, with a written estimate, so you can see how many visits are involved. We bill all insurance plans directly and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan and the Interim Federal Health Program, so there is no need to pay the full bill and wait for a cheque from your insurer.

For Bradford families

For a household coming from Bradford, the key is to get more done in each visit. Ask our front desk whether family members can be booked one after another, and let us know if a child needs a checkup at the same time as a parent's cleaning. If a tooth starts to hurt, call us first at 289-475-5497; we book urgent visits as soon as possible during opening hours, and we can talk you through what to do before you set out. Patients thinking about a bigger treatment, such as a crown, a bridge or an implant, can have the exam and imaging in one visit and take the written estimate home to think it over.

Questions from Bradford

Aren't there dentists in Bradford?

Yes, and a Bradford dentist close to home may be the easier choice. Patients who come to us from Bradford usually do so for our Saturday or evening hours, the languages our team speaks or because Aurora is on their commute.

Can I take the GO train from Bradford?

Yes. The Barrie line runs from Bradford GO south to Aurora GO, with stops at East Gwillimbury and Newmarket on the way. From Aurora GO, take a YRT bus east along Wellington Street. Trains are less frequent outside rush hour, so check the schedule.

How many trips will my treatment take?

That depends on what you need. After your exam, your dentist explains the plan, how many visits it involves and the estimate. If travel time matters to you, tell us, and we will try to group appointments where it is safe and practical.

I have a toothache. Should I drive down or go somewhere closer?

Call us first. We can tell you when we can see you and what to do in the meantime. If you have swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or a serious injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department instead of driving to us.

Do you bill my insurance so I don't pay it all upfront?

Yes. We bill all insurance plans directly, as well as the CDCP and the IFHP. You pay the part your plan does not cover, which we show you in a written estimate before treatment.
