Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to learn about our clinic, contact us and get dental care. This statement explains what we're doing on our website and at our clinic, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you. We're guided by Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
The short answer
Aurora Gateway Dental Care in Aurora aims for its website to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. You can ask for any page or form in another format. If you have access needs for a clinic visit, tell us when you book and we'll plan your visit. Contact [email protected] or 289-475-5497.
Our website
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These are international guidelines for making websites easier to use for people with disabilities.
- Pages can be used with a keyboard alone, and a 'Skip to content' link sits at the start of each page.
- Text and background colours are chosen for clear contrast.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions for screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels, and error messages explain what to fix.
- Text can be enlarged in your browser without losing content.
Where we may fall short
We test the site, but some parts may still be hard to use. Content from other providers, such as the Google map, the 360° tour and embedded video, may not fully meet the same guidelines. If any part of the site gets in your way, please tell us and we'll give you the same information another way.
Information in another format
You can ask for anything on this website, including forms and our privacy policy, in a format that works for you. That might be large print, a plain-text email, or having someone read it to you over the phone.
Email [email protected] or call 289-475-5497. Let us know which page you need and the format you'd like, and we'll work with you to provide it.
Visiting the clinic
If you have accessibility needs, tell us when you book and we'll plan your visit. You might mention a mobility aid, a support person, a service animal, a sensory sensitivity, or anything else that helps us get ready.
Questions about the entrance, the treatment rooms or getting around the clinic are welcome before your visit. Call us, and we'll answer them and talk through what will work for you.
Parking is free in front of the plaza. If you'd like a different appointment time or extra time in the chair, just ask.
Communication support
Our team speaks English, Farsi, Tamil and Tagalog. Ask for a team member who speaks your language when you book. You're also welcome to bring a family member, friend or support person to help.
Feedback
Your feedback helps us improve. Tell us about a barrier on our website or at our clinic, or an idea you have, in whichever way is easiest for you.
