New Patients in Aurora
Your first visit is about getting to know you and your teeth. Here is how to request it, what to bring and how to find our clinic on Wellington Street East in Aurora.
The short answer
New patients at Aurora Gateway Dental in Aurora can request a first visit through our website form or by phone. There is no online booking, so our team contacts you to set a time. Bring your ID, coverage details and a list of your medicines. Your first visit includes a health history, an exam and a talk about your options.

How to request your first visit
You can send a request through the form on our website or call us at 289-475-5497. We do not have online booking. A team member reads each request. We'll contact you to confirm a time.
Tell us if you are in pain, if you have a broken tooth or if you have swelling. We try to see urgent problems as soon as we can during opening hours. If we're closed, follow the instructions on our line. If you have swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

We check your coverage before you arrive
Share your coverage when you request your visit. That gives us time to check it before you come in, so there are fewer surprises at the desk.
For private insurance, we need your insurer, plan number and member ID. For the Canadian Dental Care Plan, we need your member ID, and your coverage start date must have passed. For the Interim Federal Health Program, we check your eligibility with Medavie Blue Cross using your UCI. If you have no coverage, we can talk about other options.
What to bring
A few items help us get your file right the first time. If you are bringing a child, please bring their details too.
- Photo ID
- Your insurance card, CDCP member ID or IFHP eligibility document
- A list of your medicines and supplements, with doses
- The name of your family doctor, if you have one
- Recent dental X-rays or records from your last dentist, if you can get them
- Your glasses, if you need them to read forms
Your forms and health history
Before your exam, you fill out a new patient form and a health history. We ask about health conditions, surgeries, medicines, allergies, pregnancy, smoking and any changes you have noticed in your mouth. Your health affects your dental care, so these answers matter.
Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act sets rules for how we collect, use and share your health information. We do not share it outside the clinic without your permission, except where the law allows. A parent or guardian fills out the forms for a child.
What happens at your first visit
Your dentist looks at your teeth, gums, past dental work, bite and jaw. They also check the soft tissues of your mouth and throat for signs of oral cancer. X-rays are taken only if your dentist needs them to see what an exam cannot show.
Next, your dentist explains what they found in plain words. If you need treatment, they go over your options and you get a written estimate. Nothing is done without your agreement. If you feel nervous, tell us. We explain each step, and we can stop whenever you need.
