Family Dentist near Bradford

We are in Aurora, not Bradford, so the trip takes some planning. Here is an honest look at when it makes sense for Bradford families and how to get here.

The short answer

Aurora Gateway Dental Care is a family dental clinic at 676 Wellington Street East in Aurora. If you are weighing a Bradford family dentist against one on your commute, our route runs south on the former Highway 11 and Yonge Street through Holland Landing and Newmarket to Wellington Street East, about 25 to 35 minutes, depending on traffic.

Why Bradford patients come to Aurora

Let us be plain: Bradford has dental offices closer to home, and for many families a five-minute drive will be the right choice. The families who make the trip to us usually have a reason. One parent may already drive south through Newmarket or Aurora for work, so an appointment fits on the way home. Others want Saturday visits, which we offer from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or evenings until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Language is another common reason. Our team speaks English, Farsi, Tamil and Tagalog, and some Bradford families with grandparents at home choose us so everyone can ask questions comfortably. We bill all insurance plans directly, accept the CDCP and IFHP, and parking is free at the door.

Making a family dentist outside Bradford work

When a clinic is 25 to 35 minutes away, the goal is fewer, better-planned trips. That means grouping visits, booking ahead and knowing what to do if something urgent happens between checkups.

  • Ask about times for several family members on the same day
  • Book Saturday or evening times a few weeks ahead
  • Line up a parent's visit with a commute day
  • Book the next round of checkups before you leave
  • Keep a Bradford-area option in mind for sudden pain if the drive is not practical

Everyday care for each generation

Our general dentists provide checkups, cleanings with our hygienists, fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, gum care and dentures. We see children from their very first visit, and older adults can come in for denture fit checks and dry mouth concerns. Each person keeps their own chart, so your dentist can follow changes over time and spot patterns that run in families, like heavy wear or gum problems.

Bradford family dentist costs and coverage

Each family member is billed for their own care, using the Ontario Dental Association fee guide as our reference. A parent's work plan, a child's CDCP coverage and a grandparent's CDCP as a senior can all be set up separately at one front desk. Relatives with no dental coverage can ask about our in-house dental plan and student program. If treatment is needed, you get a written estimate first.

Questions

Is Aurora too far from Bradford for a family dentist?

It depends on your routine. The drive is about 25 to 35 minutes each way. If your work, school or family already brings you south, it can fit well. If not, a Bradford clinic may suit you better.

Can we take the GO train from Bradford?

Yes. The GO Barrie line runs from Bradford GO to Aurora GO, with stops at East Gwillimbury and Newmarket in between. From Aurora GO, a YRT bus along Wellington Street East brings you toward our plaza. Check schedules first, as train times vary through the day.

What if someone in the family has a toothache between visits?

Call us at 289-475-5497 and we will book you as soon as we can during opening hours. Given the drive, a closer clinic may sometimes be quicker. If swelling makes breathing or swallowing hard, or someone is badly hurt, call 911.

Can the whole family be seen on one trip?

Tell us who needs a visit and we will look for times on the same day. Booking a few weeks ahead gives you more choice, especially for Saturdays.

Do you accept the CDCP for children and seniors?

Yes. We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan for adults and children, as well as the IFHP, and we bill all insurance plans directly.
